I'M HERE TO LISTEN TO YOUR CONCERNS AND NEEDS
Elected officials have a duty to their constituents. They must listen first, build consensus, and consider what's important for the majority and how that decision will affect their daily lives. When we have that kind of unity in public service, anything is possible.
I'm willing to work with anyone, regardless of party affiliation, when it comes to making the best decisions for the people in the 50th Senate District.
Checks and balances are crucial in effective governing, and that lack of balance in Albany has been glaring.
REPEAL BAIL REFORM
Bail reform is one of the most disastrous pieces of legislation ever passed in this state. Criminals are emboldened, unafraid of repercussions for their egregious behavior. Law enforcement officers continue to put their lives on the line daily without the tools they need to hold criminals accountable. We must put our focus back on protecting victims' rights. We must protect law-abiding citizens and focus on allowing our judicial system to function efficiently.
My priority will always be protecting victims, backing the blue, and ensuring common sense is at the forefront of any decision made affecting my constituents and their family's safety.
LOWER TAXES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES = LOWER TAXES FOR US ALL
New York continues to make it unbearable for small businesses to survive, especially in the current economic landscape. Between countless regulations, often too difficult to decipher for prospective business owners, to debilitating tax rates, New York continues to see a mass exodus of not only citizens but small businesses as well. Small businesses are the backbone of our society, we must find ways to assist existing business owners recovering from the effects of the pandemic and incentivize new businesses to begin operating and expanding in Central New York.
As a former small business owner, I understand the struggles. I've signed both the front and the back of a check. You can bet I will fight for all those small business owners looking to "make it" and thrive in CNY.
ADVOCATING FOR OUR KIDS
Children have been some of the hardest hit, not by COVID, but by the effects it has had on everything, especially social-emotional development. There is a new epidemic that has taken hold of our kids; skyrocketing rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide. Politics have found their way into the classrooms and are creating divisiveness at a time when our kids are already stretched to their limits. Excessive mandates and lack of mental health resources in our schools are a recipe for disaster and the rates of suicide are a clear indicator of that.
As your next Senator, I will fight for our kids, their rights, their mental health, and their futures. Securing additional funding for this epidemic, not only among our kids but our Veterans as well, is of the utmost importance to me and the many Central New Yorkers I have met throughout this campaign.
WILL YOU JOIN ME?
As a proud first generation American - the daughter of Cuban refugees who escaped Communism for the American dream - my parents raised me with a work-ethic that is unmatched. My passion for giving back, especially to the community that I have called home for over two decades, is what fuels me. And just as I’ve done in every aspect of my life, I’m prepared to roll up my sleeves to earn your trust and support. That starts with listening to you.
Far-left politicians and the liberal elites in Albany have built a legacy and a career on letting us down. They’re too busy focusing on liberal policies and have lost touch with what really matters here in Central New York: our safety, our kids, our community, and a long-term vision for the region.
What’s right for all of us? My priority is to listen first, build consensus, and lift people and their ideas up. When we have that kind of unity in public service, anything is possible.
